Brücken-Center Remscheid

HBB is constructing the new central railway station in Remscheid as a Regionale 2006 project in collaboration with the city government and Projektgesellschaft Hauptbahnhof Remscheid mbH (PHR). Included in the project is the construction of a footbridge to connect the southern districts with the city centre.

The project will link a new shopping and leisure centre in the south which is to include a supermarket, specialist shops and a nightclub with a new office building opposite the so-called "Schaufenster der Wirtschaft" – Remscheid’s "business window" – in the northern part of the project area.

The transport infrastructure and the Schaufenster der Wirtschaft are being built by the PHR and the city government with public monies; HBB is responsible for all other measures.

The proposal of renowned Düsseldorf architecture firm RKW won the competition for the project’s design.
