Rathaus-Galerien Herten

HBB constructed the “Rathaus-Galerien” in the heart of Herten, close to the pedestrian zone and opposite the City Hall or “Rathaus” which gives the shopping arcade its name. We worked in close cooperation with the city government to create this modern and attractive multi-storey shopping and service centre.

An important concern of the city of Herten was the preservation of the basic structure of the former municipal baths, which were integrated into the construction plan. The building’s façade incorporates elaborate glass structures. The anchor tenant is Kaufland, based in Neckarsulm. Several regional retail outlets and some specialist shops are to be found on the ground floor. The upper floors house a medical centre, a physiotherapy practice and offices of the Knappschaft public insurance company. There are two car-parking storeys within the building.
