The developers and operators of the center, ECE and HBB, have founded a joint company for the development, the planning, and the construction of a new shopping center in Velbert. Instead of competing in different locations, ECE and HBB want to combine their respective strengths for a successful project. In Velbert, HBB will lead project development and renting.

The planned shopping center is located in the heart of the city of Velbert with a direct connection to the main shopping street and the pedestrian zone, Friedrichstraße. The new property will be built on the lot of the former market center, which is almost empty today, and which no longer fulfills the requirements of a contemporary retail property. In addition, several buildings on Friedrichstraße as well as public lots will be included.

A particularity of the project is the integration of the urban Villa Herminghaus into the urban development, which is a listed building, reminding of the former location of an industrial plant. Currently, attractive ways of use are being considered here, which, as a complementary center of attraction, are to additionally enliven the center and to make it unique.

The planned shopping center will contribute to strengthening and making the entire retail location and the Velbert district center more attractive, and to increase spending capacity tie locally.

20,000 m² in sales area, as well as additional service and food areas, are planned on three levels. With making use of the floor level differences, the center will receive several entrances at ground level. One entrance is located directly in the pedestrian zone on Friedrichstraße. Other entrances will be built on Europaplatz as well as on Kolpingstraße. Approx. 450 parking spaces, located on the roof of the shopping center, are planned for customers and visitors. They will be connected to a public parking garage on Oststraße, which will be torn down and rebuilt. This will result in traffic being minimized and additional synergy effects for downtown parking.
