Langenhagen Extension City Center
A shopping center is growing
The center of the city of Langenhagen located at the outskirts of Hanover is home to the well-established “City-Center Langenhagen” (CCL), which is quite popular with the population of this wealthy region. Apart from leasing its own space, HBB is also in charge of leasing CCL space and expanding the mall by more than twice its size. The expansion by about 17,000 m2 will bring about a regional shopping mall with more than 30,000 m2 in retail space. HBB has developed a shopping center in this case that will add more than 50 new shops to the existing CCL. It will be managed in joint partnership.
A reasonable approach
The modern new two-storey building with its clinker brick architecture, as requested by the city, blends in perfectly with the townscape. The new building can be accessed via a glass rotunda and also via the existing passage. The anchor tenants of the new shopping area will include a large fresh foods market, a large consumer electronics store, several clothing department stores and several renowned fashion retailers. The parking space will also be expanded and will comprise about 1,500 parking spots in the future. The completed CCL, which is supposed to be a new shopping highlight in Langenhagen, is expected to be opened for business in march of 2012.
