Integration of existing buildings

A new consumer market belonging to EDEKA Handelsgesellschaft Rhein-Ruhr was developed at a central location with city parking space. At the city’s request, the market ofters not only ground level parking spaces but also a parking deck. This large quantity of parking reduces the downtown parking problem. But the project did not include the construction of a new building only: a vacant passage was remodeled after the move-out of a discounter and was integrated into the shopping center which received an important connection to the city center. There will be space for two shops belonging to chain store operators Takko and Deichmann and for additional retailers. The mall is within walking distance from the main shopping street. Therefore it contributes to revitalize downtown Stadtlohn.
