Magdeburg Neighbourhood Centre

The Kannenstieg-Centre was erected in 1999 in a central location in Magdeburg’s Kannenstieg neighbourhood, an area characterised by dense housing developments. The 13,000-m² retail and service centre was created through the remodelling and extension of a former “Kaufhalle” (supermarket peculiar to the former GDR). The Kannenstieg-Center offers an ideal combination of supermarket, discount outlet, specialist shops, other stores and eateries with additional services such as doctors’ surgeries, insurance offices, etc. The property has a total of around 30 units and a modern design, dominated by the elaborate glass roofs over the arcades.
