A favorite destination for the influx from the regional capital of Düsseldorf, the city of Heiligenhaus is ensconced in the charming landscape of the foothills of the Bergische Land. In its western portion, lying directly on federal road B227, is a new district center for the Unterilp and Oberilp districts. It is sited at the edge of town, close to features like the Hösel golf course and the scenic landscape of the Anger valley. The goal for HBB: to close an existing market gap in the area and serve a new housing estate planned in the immediate vicinity.

Attractive Wood Construction

Designed by the Düsseldorf architecture firm RKW Architektur + Städtebau, the expansive complex measuring approximately 5,000 m² of gross area blends well into the environment with its natural materials. The architecture is distinguished by a dynamic structure with a spectacular cantilevered projecting roof and larch wood elements. The project creates a shopping arcade for the planned housing estate, whose residents can enjoy a selection of retail goods on offer at three anchor tenants: REWE, Aldi and Rossmann. Restaurants, small shops and other services complete the center, which has been accepted wholeheartedly by tenants and customers alike since its opening in 2009.
