Ludwigshafen DOMICIL long-term care facility

Rhine floodplains in reach

Mundenheimer Straße is located south of downtown Ludwigshafen, and only a few hundred meters away from the Rhine floodplains. The residents of the new DOMICIL long-term care facility can reach the green nature at the riverbank by foot or by bus from there – in addition, there is a variety of retailers in convenient proximity. The new home is being built on the former grounds of a car dealership. Moreover, it will not only upgrade its surroundings with its façade of high-quality design, but, above all, make an attractive home for up to 147 senior citizens.

Highest standards are a given

By order of HBB, the home was designed by the renowned Berlin architecture office Broll-Förster with a gross floor area of 8,100 m². The highest constructional and ecological aspects were taken as a basis for it, and it thus fulfills the KfW 70 standard [energetic minimum efficiency standard]. On the inside, it offers up to 85 % single rooms for its new residents. All rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and emergency call systems of the newest generation. The rooms, which are 18 m² to 37 m², are high above the size provisions of the  minimum building regulations for nursing homes and residents have the option to add their own individual designs to them. In addition, the home has a grand ballroom for all kinds of events, its own garden where residents can linger, and its own kitchen and laundry.

HBB Hanseatische Gesellschaft für Seniorenheime mbH & Co.KG has invested about 18million euros in this new project, which also guarantees more than 80 new jobs in the region.
