Accessibility Statement

We are committed to making our website consistent with the Disability Equality Act (BGG) and the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) to be as accessible as possible.

Status of accessibility
Our website was originally developed without fully adhering to accessibility standards. As a subsequent step, we have taken measures to improve accessibility for as many users as possible.

Accessibility widget
We use a comprehensive accessibility widget, accessible in the bottom corner of every page. It offers the following features, among others:

  • Contrast adjustment (light/dark, high contrast)
  • Controlling the page via keyboard
  • enlargement of the font
  • Hide or pause animations
  • Deactivating images
  • Reading content aloud (screen reader function)
  • Adjustment of line spacing and font (e.g. dyslexia-friendly)
  • Marking links
  • Focus highlighting for keyboard navigation

Technical measures in the source code
In addition to the widget, we have made targeted technical adjustments to the website's source code to improve semantic and functional accessibility. These measures include, among others:

  • Addition of semantic landmarks such as role=“navigation”, role=“banner”, role=“contentinfo” for screen readers
  • Automatically set meaningful aria-label attributes for navigation elements and buttons if no label is available
  • Marking links that open in a new window or tab with a note for assistive technologies
  • Addition of skip links that allow you to jump directly to the main content, navigation or footer
  • Improve button accessibility by automatically naming if the visible text is missing
  • Ensuring that structured lists are correctly marked as such – unless they are used for navigation with links
  • Automatic correction and standardization of the viewport specification in the HTML header for better scaling on mobile devices
  • Adding missing alt attributes to images with an empty value to ensure accessibility

A comprehensive technical accessibility audit according to standards such as WCAG or BITV has not yet been conducted. Nevertheless, we are committed to continuously improving the accessibility of our content and reducing existing barriers.
