Viktoria Karree becomes Husemann Karree
HBB will open the first construction phases of the Bochum business district this year
Hamburg/Bochum, July 20.07.2023, 37.500 - The HBB Hanseatic Care and Investment Company from Hamburg will partially open the business quarter at Husemannplatz in Bochum's city center this year. A variety of uses will be created in three multi-story buildings, including shopping, restaurants, offices, hotels and fitness centers. The rental area is XNUMX square meters plus a two-story underground car park.
The new Husemann Karree
In the future, the business district will be known as Husemann Karree and invite employees, visitors and customers to work and linger. Why Husemann Karree and no longer Viktoria Karree? The numerous existing and planned projects on Viktoriastrasse have led to frequent confusion of names. The city's House of Knowledge is being built in the immediate vicinity, but will not be completed for a few years. The new name is intended to highlight the central location on Husemannplatz and the pedestrian zone. Harald Ortner, Managing Director of HBB, said: "We see our project as an integral part of the city center on Husemannplatz and the prime location on Kortumstrasse. We therefore want to use the new name to highlight the outstanding location of our project." Husemannplatz is currently being completely redesigned by the city and is to become the city's new flagship.
New opening date
The opening date originally planned earlier had to be postponed due to numerous delivery bottlenecks, particularly in the area of security technology. Thanks to the good cooperation of everyone involved in the construction, all problems have now been resolved, so that the tenants in the first two parts can open or move into their new office space this year. The third part will be completed by the middle of next year.
business district with new major tenant
The new shops for retail, services and restaurants will complement the existing inner-city offerings in a sensible way. These include REWE, OLYMP & HADES, L'Osteria, Miviko with a food court and a mix of different restaurants and a hair salon. The people of Bochum can also look forward to a large shopping and department store concept. Woolworth will open with its current large-scale concept, in which the company's entire range is offered, on almost 2.700 square meters of rental space, replacing the Decathlon company. Woolworth is a very successful department store operator and offers a wide range of items for everyday needs. These include, for example, home textiles, household items, fashion for women, men and children, decorative and drugstore items, stationery and haberdashery as well as a colorful selection of gift items.
The Holiday Inn Express hotel and the easy Fitness gym will also open this year.
