Article in the SZ “Wirtschaftsmagazin”: New care facility for Völklingen
At the beginning of 2024, the Hamburg investor HBB began construction of its 51st senior care home in Völklingen. In a prominent location in the north of Völklingen, on the corner of Nordring and Kühlweinstrasse, the new "DOMICIL Schillerpark Senior Care Home" has been under construction on a plot of around 7.250 m². The plot of land north of the city center, once the site of St. Michael's Hospital, is in a good residential area. After the clinic was demolished, HBB managed to acquire the site. Surrounded by green spaces - with the small Schillerpark in the northeast, the larger Bürgerpark in the southeast and the foothills of a forest area northwest of the site - a modern, three-storey senior care facility with a total of 150 care places is being built here.
With its functional, cubic façade, visually loosened up by protruding balconies and loggias as well as individual bay windows, the new building, which will soon be visible from afar, not only exudes great tranquility, but also a modern ambience. At the same time, with its spacious outdoor area, it integrates harmoniously into the district. The entire project was developed in "close cooperation with the city" and has received a lot of approval from politicians and the administration, emphasizes HBB Managing Director Oliver Radünz.
The new building is the third senior care home that the investor is building for the operator DOMICIL in Saarland. It is scheduled for completion in 2026.
