Glöckle builds second Domicil senior care home in Schweinfurt
Construction expected to begin in June 2020
Schweinfurt – The investor HBB Hanseatische Gesellschaft für Seniorenimmobilien II mbH & Co. KG from Hamburg is building a second senior care home on Hennebergstrasse in Schweinfurt. The Schweinfurt construction company Glöckle has been commissioned to build it.
"Now is the time to see how important it is that we have enough good nursing homes for the elderly in the city. I am therefore delighted that a new, approximately 8.400 m² nursing home for the elderly will be built in the immediate vicinity of the Leopoldina Hospital, on the edge of the Kiliansberg residential area. It is particularly pleasing that the investor HBB was able to win over the Schweinfurt construction company Glöckle to implement this project," said Mayor Sebastian Remelé.
Construction is expected to begin in June of this year, with completion of the building planned for the first quarter of 2022.
The new senior care home was designed by the Berlin-based architectural firm Melzer Architekten to be modern and at the same time homely and will have four floors. Access to the L-shaped building is only possible from Hennebergstrasse. The house will accommodate 149 residents. Almost all of the residents' rooms will be single rooms, the size of which exceeds legal requirements and allows for individual design by the residents, who can also bring their own furniture if they wish.
The plot between Hennebergstrasse and Söldnerstrasse is around 8.300 m2 in size. The western part has an extensive old tree population, which gives the area a park-like character and will be completely preserved. The garden planning by the renowned Kiel landscape architect BHF also includes a lovingly landscaped garden with selected plants that invites you to take a stroll or linger. "The residents should be given a feeling of security combined with the greatest possible safety," says HBB Managing Director Oliver Radünz.
The project was developed in very close and constructive coordination between the city, the municipal housing company SWG, the Leopoldina Hospital and HBB. The neighbors were included in the planning in a dialogue process lasting several years.
HBB is investing around 26,0 million euros in the project. Around 80 new jobs will be created.
