HBB realizes the third DOMICIL senior care home in Frankfurt
Frankfurt-Rödelheim, April 2021: At the end of 2015 / beginning of 2016, HBB Hanseatische Gesellschaft für Seniorenimmobilien II mbH & Co. KG had the high-rise bunker on Thudichumstrasse in Frankfurt-Rödelheim demolished in order to build a senior care home on this and the neighboring property. The task of demolishing the multi-storey bunker, which had reinforced concrete walls and ceilings up to 2,5 m thick, in the middle of Frankfurt's city center and on a busy street, without causing damage to the neighboring buildings, was a challenge rarely realized before in Germany.
Given the limited availability of land in the middle of Frankfurt, HBB decided to take on this challenge by purchasing the land from the Federal Agency for Real Estate (BIMA) in order to be able to build a nursing home for senior citizens in the middle of the district. In close and constructive coordination with the City of Frankfurt and the Federal Agency for Real Estate (BIMA), HBB has thereby contributed to a significant improvement in the center of Frankfurt-Rödelheim.
Rödelheim, located near the city of Frankfurt, is not only characterized by excellent transport links to the city center, but also has, in addition to the urbanity of the small district center, considerable recreational value due to the Nidda river flowing through the district as well as the parks of the historic Brentano Park and Solms Park.
In June 2021, the senior care home, built by the commissioned company Schneider Bau Generalunternehmer GmbH from Merxheim, will start operations with a gross floor area of around 7.580 m² and space for 138 senior citizens.
According to Oliver Radünz, managing director of the HBB Group, the rooms in the building are large, bright and pleasantly designed. All residents' rooms have their own bathroom suitable for seniors with a floor-level shower and the latest emergency call and security systems. The rooms are comfortably furnished, but each resident has the opportunity to decorate the rooms themselves with their own furnishings.
The new building has a large ballroom on the ground floor. Events for the residents of the Rödelheim district will also be held there. According to the operating company DOMICIL's concept of "Mitten im Leben", the building will be open to the neighborhood and thus become a meeting place for people in the surrounding area.
To make it as comfortable as possible for the future residents, the house has been equipped with its own kitchen and laundry. There is also a hairdresser in the house.
