Kempten location: Investor HBB realizes new care facility
In Kempten, the investor and project developer HBB from Hamburg is currently completing its 48th care property. The house with 187 full-time care places, located on the corner of Memminger Straße and Adenauerring, will be operated by the DOMICIL Group in the future. In summer 2024, the first residents will move into their new home in the heart of the Allgäu metropolis.
Kempten/Hamburg.// In a few days, the remaining construction fences at Memminger Strasse 80 in Kempten will be removed and the last paving stones will be laid in the new walkways in front of the soon-to-be-opened senior care home. With its bright and transparent facade, which is made clear by numerous floor-to-ceiling windows and extends over five full floors plus a penthouse floor, the special property is a striking architectural landmark between the Kempten districts of Lotterberg and Breiten. The building inspection by the general contractor, Glöckle SF-Bau GmbH from Schweinfurt, and the handover of the building to the operator are planned for the end of June.
The HBB Group has completed its 48th senior care property nationwide in around two years (construction started in April 2022) in the name and on behalf of Scheck Dritte Grundbesitz KG. An investment with which HBB is now also flying the flag in Kempten, in the center of the Bavarian administrative district of Swabia, and creating new care places. "With this property, we have realized our first care property in the Allgäu. We are pleased to be able to make a contribution to the necessary security of care provision," explains HBB Managing Director Oliver Radünz.
The location: close to the action and a green retreat
The location of the senior care home is characterized by its attractive proximity to the city center on Memminger Strasse. The lively center of the city of 70.000 inhabitants with its numerous retail stores, restaurants, doctor's offices, and leisure and service offerings is quickly accessible for the future residents and their families. On the other hand, the generously landscaped, almost 5.000 square meter plot of land of the house, which was previously a garden center, borders directly on the Rottach stream, a tributary of the Iller. In terms of location, therefore, a perfect symbiosis of connection to the lively city life and at the same time the possibility of retreating into the tranquil greenery of the facility's outdoor area.
Lots of light and space for community
The DOMICIL senior care home in Kempten offers a total of 187 care places, mostly in single rooms. Large windows and generous skylights allow plenty of natural light into the building. The homely environment is complemented by comfortable communal areas on all floors and various terraces and balconies. The gross floor area of the property is almost 10.000 square meters.
Integrated into the city community
Conceptually, the new senior citizens' facility is also open to exchange and networking with other social and civically engaged actors. It sees itself as an active co-creator of the neighborhood community. This continues a philosophy that was already a determining factor in the selection of the plot and the planning of the property. "In constructive cooperation with the design advisory board of the city and the city of Kempten, an architecturally striking solution was found for this special place with great approval from all sides. This creates a new, lively address that can be integrated into the city community of Kempten in accordance with the operator's motto 'In the middle of life'," summarizes HBB Managing Director Oliver Radünz.
