HBB realizes shopping and service center on Liebigstraße
Langen, April 26, 2019. Something is happening on Liebigstrasse, north of Langen train station: The project developer HBB Hanseatic Care and Investment Company from Hamburg is developing a shopping and service center there with a mix of retail, services and fitness. A two-story new building and an adjacent parking garage as well as outdoor parking spaces are being built on the 17.000 square meter site. Harald Ortner, Managing Director of HBB, explains the concept behind the project: "With the new building, we are creating completely new opportunities for residents and generating liveliness in the district. By bundling various possible uses under one roof, a center with short distances is created." The project developer's plans focus on a high quality of stay. The general contractor LIST Bau Nordhorn has been commissioned to build the turnkey building complex. "The earthworks are already in full swing. The new building is expected to start growing in height at the end of May," says Andreas Brockhaus, Managing Director of LIST Bau Nordhorn.
At the same time as the shopping and service center, another residential complex is being built on a neighboring property. Mayor Frieder Gebhardt is enthusiastic about the timely construction of the two projects: "The future shopping center offers residents and future residents of the adjacent residential areas an important local supply that is within walking distance. The project makes a decisive contribution to the development of the Liebigstrasse residential area and is an important addition to our central supply area - we are looking forward to the new building." The opening is scheduled for mid-2020.
