Outdoor area of the senior care home in Friedberg

Centrally located in the heart of Friedberg, a new senior care home has been built on the site of a former car dealership in recent years. Recently, HBB Managing Director Oliver Radünz, representing the investor, together with facility manager Carolin-Babett Erler and other colleagues, welcomed Friedberg Mayor Dirk Antkowiak to the new premises of the "Domicil Friedberg" at Mainzer-Tor-Anlage 44a or Carl-Damm-Straße.

"Clear shapes and plenty of daylight are the main features of our new facility. All of Friedberg's important infrastructure is also easily and quickly accessible - true to our company motto "In the middle of life," Radünz and Erler explained to the delegation from the city administration. The HBB, which has built and owns 42 similar facilities throughout Germany, also looked back on the quick and smooth planning and approval process at this location.

The head of the municipal office for social and cultural services and facilities, Christine Böhmerl, was happy to come with her deputy Sebastian Dein and the clerk responsible for Friedberg's senior citizens, Simone Köhl, to inspect the new facility together with the mayor:

"We are particularly interested in getting to know the management and the structure of the new senior residence in order to establish networking contacts with the people we know from the Friedberg Senior Advisory Board and the senior citizens' clubs, and on the other hand, to be able to provide our citizens in the town hall with appropriate information about care services in Friedberg," said the representatives of the city administration.

The Domicil employees then led the city delegation through the newly created premises and explained the various room types and care services, which range from light to intensive care in all levels of care to short-term and respite care and are individually tailored to the needs of the residents.

In addition to 93 single and 20 double rooms, the building contains numerous modern therapy and common rooms, a separate dementia department, a ballroom with a winter garden, several balconies and terraces with garden furniture and - also thanks to the beautifully designed garden - enables a wide variety of varied events to be held virtually all year round.

In the future, a total of around 80 full-time positions will be employed in a wide range of functions for the facility - in addition to care, for example, in the in-house large kitchen, which will also offer lunch for external guests in the medium term, as well as in the in-house laundry and building cleaning, which in turn significantly reduces transport routes and traffic volumes because tasks are not outsourced to external service providers.

The “Domicil” will officially open in around 4 weeks and interested parties and applicants for care places can call 040 / 70 70 77 500 to find out about the places still available and the conditions of the facility or to arrange a viewing of a model room.

“There are already numerous advance reservations, but of course we still have some space at the beginning,” explained facility manager Erler when asked by the city administration, who wished the Domicil a good start:

"I am very pleased that with you we now have another strong provider of senior care in Friedberg, thus taking demographic change into account, and I am still very enthusiastic about this great building complex, which fits wonderfully into the surrounding buildings," concluded Mayor Dirk Antkowiak.
