A place of togetherness
The Munich district of Haidhausen is located on the eastern bank of the Isar and combines the advantages of a popular nightlife district with those of a quiet residential area. Not far from the renowned Prinzregentenplatz with the theater of the same name is the corner of Grillparzerstraße and Einsteinstraße. Here, the HBB has built a 4.955 m2 large corner plot, it has built its second senior care home in the Bavarian capital. The building has five floors and a converted attic and offers a total of 190 single rooms and 13 double rooms for 216 people in full-time care. A further 35 residential units are used for assisted living. In total, the building has a floor area of 16.156 m2.
Fully integrated into the neighborhood
With this construction project, the company is living up to its motto “In the middle of life” to an unprecedented extent. The residents are integrated into a functioning residential area with all the important amenities and the building also offers other functions, such as a day-care center for two groups with its own 500 m2 large outdoor area and a café on the ground floor. The latter is not only accessible to residents, but to the entire district and is therefore committed to social purposes. To realize the project, the HBB cooperated closely with the state capital of Munich, which leased the property - together with another for the first Munich project in Schwabing. Among other things, it was agreed that around 80% of the care places would be offered to low-income people. This guarantees that the new home will be a place of communal togetherness - for old and young.
The project was completed in early 2018.
