Green oasis in the historic residential district

There are probably few districts in the cosmopolitan city of Berlin that are as calm as Lichterfelde - West. The streets, which are often avenue-like, are spacious, many of the buildings are historic and often stand on large plots of land. Curtiusstrasse is one such case. It branches off from Drakestrasse, the district's main shopping street, and thus combines a quiet location with good infrastructure within easy walking distance. The Lichterfelde-West S-Bahn station is also not far away, which guarantees good connections throughout the city. Here, HBB is building its 15th senior care home in the capital on a brownfield site - as always true to the motto "In the middle of life", i.e. in the middle of a functioning residential and living environment.

With a historic feel to the neighborhood

Planned by the Broll-Förster Architekten architectural firm, which specializes in senior housing, the new building was planned and built in close cooperation with the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district administration. With its historic design, it blends in harmoniously with the established villa architecture of the surrounding area. The two-story building with a converted gable roof is laid out in a U-shape and opens onto the avenue-like Curtiusstrasse. This creates a spacious, inviting overall impression, which is further emphasized by the high-quality garden design - also for the benefit of the entire neighborhood. In total, the new senior care home offers 189 beds in single and double rooms according to the latest standards.
