Troisdorf Galerie supplements offer

The city of Troisdorf has 77.000 inhabitants and is located in the Rhein-Sieg district in a triangle with St. Augustin and Siegburg. In direct competition with the neighboring cities and the major centers of Cologne and Bonn, the city center wants to score points with a new business center. HBB won the Europe-wide tendering process that was put out to tender for this purpose. As a gallery and passage, this property is intended to carefully complement the existing ribbon-like structure of the city center to create a shopping triangle and to additionally enliven the side streets.

In spring 2012, HBB began construction. Based on the design by the Düsseldorf-based firm RKW Architektur + Städtebau, not only the shopping center but also all the outdoor areas around the passage were redesigned in consultation with the city. Retail, catering and service offerings on two levels were accessed from both sides of the single-storey passage at ground level. The facade of the shopping center is characterized by light natural stone and deliberately forms a counterpoint to the surrounding buildings with typical local clinker facades. A total of around 2 m² of rental space is available, with important anchor tenants being C&A, Saturn, Müller Drogerie and My Shoes. A special structural feature is the preservation and renovation of the existing underground car park under the former community center - despite the demolition of the existing buildings. The modernized underground car park has around 9.000 parking spaces.

The project opened in November 2013.
