Fachmarktzentrum Goslar

strengthening the location

The historic district town of Goslar on the northwestern edge of the Harz Mountains is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As a tourist destination and medium-sized center of the region, it also has a great appeal for the surrounding area. However, the western district of Goslar-Baßgeige, which is excellently connected by the adjacent B6, lacked shopping opportunities for a long time. The HBB was tasked with remedying this situation.

center as a purchasing power magnet

It took just eleven months to build a modern self-service department store with a mall, specialist stores and around 720 parking spaces in a former industrial area. Marktkauf is the anchor tenant of the complex, which has a total gross floor area of 14.200 m². The store can be recognized from afar by its large logo made up of six slanted green columns, which as part of the facade support a large canopy over the entrance area. Other tenants such as Deichmann, Takko and a pharmacy complete the offer. The shopping center, which opened in August 2002 - as the mayor of the city confirmed to HBB - has attracted purchasing power to the region and significantly revitalized the adjacent commercial area. Other companies have settled in the area, which are also strengthening Goslar.
