Sensitive Monument Protection

The Seilwolff rope factory was an institution in the southwestern Mannheim district of Neckarau. On the site between Angelstrasse and Rhenaniastrasse, the HBB was tasked with building a shopping center with sophisticated urban planning and design features, while retaining the old Seilwolff administration building, which is a listed building, and incorporating it into the construction. The result is an integrated district center that opened in April 2008.

Intelligent Division

Based on a design by the architects nhp partnership from Seevetal, a complex with a total gross floor area of ​​41.000 m² was built with a central mall, underground car park and parking deck as well as a multi-storey fitness and wellness centre run by the regional market leader Pfitzenmeier. The facade of the Seilwolff Centre conveys an impression of lightness thanks to generous glass surfaces, while red accents in the entrance give it a striking look. Inside there is a check-in centre run by the chairman of the supervisory board of the EDEKA Group, Adolf Scheck, as well as other offers from a drugstore to a shoe shop. The protected administration building on the front part of the property was retained, and various restaurants have been set up here.
