Villa renovation and new construction of DOMICIL senior care home

Schweinfurt – The construction company Glöckle SF-Bau GmbH is carrying out two projects on behalf of the HBB in Schweinfurt: the construction of a new Domicil senior care home and the renovation of an existing villa. The construction work is well advanced and the overall completion is planned for the end of February next year.

Since spring 2020, work has been underway on the senior care home on a plot of land directly below the health park at the Leopoldina Hospital. It is a building with 149 beds in 131 resident rooms with prefabricated wet rooms, a commercial kitchen and a laundry. The new building has a gross volume of 28.830 cubic meters. This is distributed over a partial basement, ground floor and three upper floors with a flat roof. Access is via three staircases, a bed elevator, two passenger elevators and a kitchen elevator. Access is only possible via Hennebergstrasse.

The building shell and the thermal insulation composite system have been completed, as have the facing brickwork on the ballroom including shading and fall protection, as well as the roof with ventilation systems and green roof.

The interior work is partially completed, including work on the 3rd floor and the basement. The work is being carried out from the upper floors downwards, including the stairwells, according to the LEAN plan.

The high-quality outdoor facilities, including a playground, are being built in part by the construction company Glöckle Hoch- und Tiefbau GmbH. Current status: The drainage is complete, as are the transformer and the retaining walls. The dry stone wall and the substructure for paths and patio coverings are currently under construction. The irrigation system, planting and fence construction will follow.

The construction contract also includes the renovation of an existing, listed villa. It will later be used as a residential home for the operator's nursing staff. The external work on the building has been completed, including window and natural stone renovation and roof replacement. The interior work is also progressing very well: only the sanitary installation, tiling and parquet laying work, the doors and the staircase still need to be completed.
