Well-provided living at the foot of the Taunus
In Bad Vilbel, north of Frankfurt am Main, the Hamburg investor HBB has completed a new senior care home with 147 nursing places. In the "city of springs", seniors in need of care and support will find a new home - with a view of the nearby Taunus.
Bad Villebel.// With around 35.000 inhabitants, Bad Vilbel, known for its healing water springs, is the largest town in the Wetterau district of Hesse. Bordering on the northern outskirts of the Main metropolis of Frankfurt, the town is characterized by a high quality of life. In terms of infrastructure, with its convenient transport links to Frankfurt and its high purchasing power, it has everything that characterizes city life. In addition, there is a high recreational value, for example due to the nearby and quickly accessible Taunus mountains.
Because many people in Bad Vilbel are lucky enough to live longer, the need for care and nursing in old age is also growing here. In response to this need, the HBB Hanseatic Society for Senior Citizens' Homes mbH & Co.KG had a modern new senior care home built on Bad Vilbel's Heilsberg in around 19 months. The medium-sized construction company Glöckle SF-Bau GmbH was awarded the contract to build the project. The traditional Hamburg company HBB has invested around 27 million euros in this new building. HBB has currently built a total of 44 senior citizen properties nationwide and has them in its portfolio. 3 more homes are under construction.
senior housing in intact inner-city locations
The house, with its high-quality, historicist architecture, will be handed over to the operator before the end of the year and will offer 147 senior citizens a new home with the highest level of security of supply - combined with many living amenities. "It will have a large ballroom on the ground floor that is open to all residents, visitors and people from the neighborhood," says Oliver Radünz, Managing Director of HBB. The aim is to create a meeting place for the people of Heilsberg and the surrounding area. This HBB property also follows the project developer's strategy of building senior citizen properties in intact inner-city locations, where they are part of the respective neighborhood and offer their residents a high level of social and cultural participation. This fits with the motto "In the middle of life" of the future operator of the senior citizens' home, DOMICIL Senioren-Residenzen SE, which operates all HBB senior citizen care properties nationwide.
Care and living at a high quality level
In the ballroom of the new DOMICIL senior residence, meals will be served that are freshly cooked in the in-house kitchen every day. The house also has its own laundry. "In addition to the nursing expertise of our operator DOMICIL, such domestic aspects make a decisive contribution to the quality of living and life in the houses we build," explains Radünz. Locations where these features cannot be implemented are not an option for HBB.
The Hamburg investor bought the almost 4.500 square meter plot of land on Heilsberg, on which the new senior care home now stands, from the city of Bad Vilbel. The city had previously carried out a development plan procedure in which a large number of points had to be discussed and agreed upon. "A process that we went through in close and extremely good cooperation with the city," Radünz looks back with satisfaction.
For the mayor of Bad Vilbel, Dr. Thomas Stöhr, the new senior care home is a successful addition to the housing market in the spring and festival town. "Many people in Bad Vilbel would like to continue living in their town even when they are older. Since many senior citizens cannot stay in their own home or apartment due to illness, age or housing problems, they are dependent on this type of nursing support and appropriate housing options. The Domicil senior care home therefore offers these Bad Vilbel residents a wonderful opportunity to stay in their town and at the same time be able to live in an age-appropriate environment. We have therefore supported the project positively from the start and are now very pleased about its completion," said Mayor Dr. Thomas Stöhr.
The result is a three-storey T-shaped building with a gable roof that looks like a residential building and blends harmoniously into the surroundings. It is surrounded by a spacious garden that will invite future residents and their visitors to take a stroll and linger.
