Woolworth moves into the Petersbogen Leipzig
The Petersbogen Leipzig gets another crowd puller: The HBB Centermanagement GmbH & Co. KG has acquired Woolworth as a new tenant. The well-known department store chain is expected to move into an area of around 1.200 square metres in the centrally located passage in the second quarter. With the new tenant, the local supply range in the Petersbogen Leipzig strengthened and the shopping experience of customers further improved. Woolworth's decision underlines the attractiveness of the location and sends a clear signal for the future.
Woolworth has been offering a wide range of products at low prices for over 140 years. The focus is on everyday products: the standard range includes 10.000 items, including home textiles, household items, clothing, stationery and haberdashery, as well as decorative and drugstore items.
“We are very pleased that we have signed a lease for a space in Petersbogen Leipzig expand our branch network in the city. With the new opening, Woolworth will operate five stores in Leipzig and expand its presence in the city center. This speaks for our concept of customer proximity, which expressly provides for several locations with different customer groups in one city area. We would like to thank HBB Centermanagement GmbH for the productive discussions and the support of our ambitious expansion," says Roland Rissel, Senior Expert Corporate Communication/PR at Woolworth GmbH. The department store chain is moving into the new part of the passage, which belongs to Petersbogen Burgplatz GmbH.
Rossmann and Decathlon extend
In addition, the drugstore chain Rossmann is continuing its partnership with the Petersbogen Leipzig long-term and has extended the lease. The same applies to the global sporting goods manufacturer and retailer Decathlon, which continues to present its range on two levels and a sales area of around 2.300 square meters. The two shops are located in the part of the passage that was opened in 2001 and is owned by Petersbogen Zentrum GmbH.
The extension of these two leases not only confirms the successful collaboration to date, but also underlines the positions of Rossmann and Decathlon as permanent components of the mixed-use property in Leipzig's city center. The mix of industries in the service sector will also be expanded from April by the local Barbershop & Salon Maya, which will open on the former site of the essanelle hair salon.
“Woolworth, Rossmann and Decathlon are good examples of our efforts to improve the industry and tenant mix in Petersbogen Leipzig and to keep successful tenants. Our goal is to continually increase the attractiveness of the center through such strategic steps and successful partnerships. We look forward to the shared future with all our partners,” says André Stromeyer, Managing Director of HBB Centermanagement GmbH & Co. KG, about the positive developments in Leipzig.
